Collateral Damage

I thought I was alone in my feelings concerning the events in Fallujah. So, I kept them to myself. Now, I see, I'm not. Someone else feels the same as I. Someone else had the courage to say the words, to voice the feelings. I was afraid that I would come across as cold and callus.
I have been called names, put down, treated with disrespect and ridicule so much lately that I've come close to giving up. I am weary of people acting like, if I can't 'see what great things Bush & Co. have done , I must be stupid, naive, or gullible. Either that or treated like some kind of pariah because I have the audacity to actually care about what is going on in our country. How foolish I am to think that anyone gives a damn what I think, or that what I think, say or do will make one bit of difference.
I don't think I'm the only one who's been experiencing this feeling. Houston seems to have been experiencing feelings of discontent as well.
The battle has only begun, and this is going to be a nasty war. Those on the 'other side' ( I detest calling them 'the right' because it make's it appear that we are somehow in 'the wrong'), are determined to make anyone who does not support Bush & Co. look like fools or incompetents. They question our patriotism, our loyalty, our intelligence, even our integrity. If they can't beat us down with insults and disgrace then they will attempt to go back and re-write the law in order to silence us.
The man in whom we must put our faith and on we must depend to lead us in this battle , almost doesn't seem equipped to take on the responsibility. He seems to lack the passion, and the fire, we need to ignite the flame, and then to keep it burning. Why did the Democratic Party fail to embrace the the man who could have led us so passionately to victory in November? Why is it that men like Howard Dean and John McCain, who so clearly see what our country needs, are dismissed as 'hot tempered' and un-electable?
At times like this I am so grateful to find blogs like Daily Kos where there are folks who are still fighting, still standing up and saying not only what we on the 'other side' think and feel, but what MUST be said!

ps: Is it possible that God has been listening and is going to answer my prayers? I would truely weep tears of joy at such an event ..... Could It Really Be Mc Cain ?

He Did WHAT?

"On January 19, 2001 on his way out, Clinton sent Congress a letter continuing the state of emergency with regard to grave acts of violence committed by foreign terrorists attempting to disrupt the Middle East peace process, specifically naming Usama bin Ladin."

Read all about it at South Knox Bubba.

Well this is certainly NEWS to me. Why am I only hearing about this now? Why isn't the press all over this?
Thanks to Green Thoughts for this important information.
Come on blogosphere, I guess it's up to US to get this infromation out. Cause the media damn sure isn't!!!

ps: I'd like to pass on a link to a site that my wonderful (Republican) friend Jen over in Jennsylvania was kind enough to share with me. FactCheck.org is a non-partisan, non-profit group that monitors factual accuracy of political ads, speeches, etc. on both sides of the aisle. From what I've read so far, they appear to be pretty fair and balanced. Something that is rare these days. So far it's been recommended by a Repugnican Republican and an Independent. Check it out and let me know what YOU think.
At any rate, you all have a great weekend ya hear!

Here in Podunt...(or therebout)

One of our local tv stations (no not actually local as in here in Podunt ) posted this poll on their website.

Which do you consider the greater threat to our nation?
1. Terrorism (36.7%)
2. Rising gasoline prices (63.3%)

I guess I am not alone in my feeling that terrorism is not the real greatest threat to our country.
In fact if you were to ask me what the real threat is I'd have to refer you to the following...
With these three in charge

Is it any wonder this is what we're living with?

Thanks to oldcatman
for the picture of our illustrious (NOT) leader and a couple of his stooges.

ps: Thanks to Houston , I have discovered two awesome new (well new to me) blogs. Check them out....
The Kamikaze Kumquat (don't ya just love that name), and The Fulcrum.
